INTERPRETER

1. On-site Interpreting

Simultaneous Interpretation

The interpreter translates what’s being said in real time from a booth. This method is used to avoid interruptions and to deliver a smoother experience.

Consecutive Interpretation

The interpreter follows the conversation and takes notes, then translates at regular intervals. Used for small groups, consecutive interpreting requires more time.

Whispered Interpretation (Chuchotage)

The interpreter simultaneously translates what’s being said in a low voice into the ear of one or two participants who don’t know the source language.

Liaison Interpretation

Bilateral interpretation where the professional regularly switches from one language to the other to translate for two parties. This mode is used for business meetings, trade fairs, and much more.

Bidule Interpretation

Also known as “infoport”, the bidule system allows for simultaneous interpreting without having to use a booth. This is only feasible for small groups and less formal events.

INTERPRETER

2. Remote Interpreting

Remote Simultaneous Interpretation (RSI)

Similar to on-site simultaneous interpreting, with RSI the interpreter translates in real time with no interruption. However, they aren’t working in an on-site booth but connected remotely through dedicated platforms.

Remote Consecutive Interpretation (RCI)

Similar to on-site consecutive interpreting, the interpreter takes notes and then translates at regular intervals. However, they aren’t on-site, but connected remotely. Unlike remote simultaneous interpreting, RCI doesn’t require dedicated platform, you only need a videoconferencing software (such as Zoom, Skype, or Teams).

Hybrid Events

Remote interpretation can be used for hybrid or on-site events. Get in touch to find out more!

TRANSLATOR

3. Translation

Working languages

Unlike interpretation (where I always work bidirectionally), I always translate into my mother tongue (Italian), adhering to the industry’s codes of ethics and standards. If you need a translation into English or Spanish, the process is carried out in collaboration with a native speaker who reviews the text, thus guaranteeing high-quality results.

Human translation

It’s always me―and never a machine―who translates your texts. I never resort to automatic translation.

No third parties involved

I’ll always be the one handling your project with no subcontracting.

Computer-Assisted Translation Tools (CAT Tools)

Depending on client preferences I employ the better known CAT tools, which enable the creation of translation memories and termbases to ensure accuracy and coherence throughout.
